Cuba..one more time

Fall had been very busy with work (bay window and medical stuff) and a free period appeared on our calendar! Where can one go...without preparation? where there is not much walking to be done (I cannot walk as much as usual unfortunately:(((()? One more time, let's go to Cuba. We never were in Varadero and we knew the place was popular for its white sandy beaches. As it is on the northern shore of Cuba, November seemed a good time to go..rather than in the heart of winter!

On pourrait intituler ce blog Petite vacance soleil puisque c'est bien ca que nous recherchions en ce début novembre; les rénos avaient été intensives! la Marleyne ne pouvait toujours pas marcher des heures comme pendant les périples européens antérieurs alors Cuba, encore une fois, nous apparut comme une solution rapide et facile. 

We had a relaxing week...the pictures speak for themselves! Beach, food, beach, rhum, coffee..and oh! yes, I bought real Cuban cigarettes! Popular! They are really mini-cigars! Good tobacco, very little chemical!

We had chosen to go to Arenas Doradas, a very pretty resort on the Varadero Presqu'ile.
The interior reminded us of Chinese decor...Stained glass, dark wood, pagoda style wood work.

Our room had a balcony...it was quiet and sunny in the afternoon.

Varadero is the wealthiest part of Cuba..it shows! Many very shiny old cars! We bought a plate..just in case!
