Our friends of the sailboat Douce Folie, also back in the country after a sail down south, had invited us to their home in the Gatineau...it was a great opportunity to visit this area, get to spend more time together as well as make plans for their fall visit on La Buena Vida!

On holidays ....

we are taking a break - yeah!!! (from what you will be asking ...?) - in Montreal. Weather is phantastic inviting us to take long walks (we feel it in our legs!) and to enjoy outdoor cafes and bars. One of our favourite re-opened again: Le Barouf, just around the corner! It feels good to be back again for a visit, with no schedule, no appointments.

But, with fall approaching, we booked our return flights to St. Vincent. Environment Canada is calling for a drop in temperaure over the next few days, indeed, fall seems to be on its way.

August has come and gone! We have done so much...here is a little recap!

My sister came to Kingston for a long visit. It was nice to have time to spend together! Besides lounging in the sun and swimming, we went for an excursion to Cape Vincent New York, to Waupoos Winery and Cider House! It was my birthday after all!

What a nice surprise! What a great weekend!

Sally and Arnie dropped us an email, saying that their daughter was interested to drop by with a friend to enjoy the cottage and the great outdoors… That sounded great! Yes, please!

We did a quick tour through the house to dust and to provide some space in the fridge. The forecast sounded just perfect for a “day at the cottage”.

And they arrived! Heidi and Allison are professional travelers! Wow, were they ever equipped – food wise! From bags of ice cubes to wines, salads and appetizers. Everything was there. …. No need for my emergency preparations of spaghetti sauce or chili con carne.

Over the next two nights we established a routine in taking turns in the kitchen, chatting over a glass of wine while things were being prepared, and continued with our conversations over our meals and late into the night. One morning, I made pancakes (choice of apples and (wild grown) blue berries), the next one Heidi prepared sumptuous French Toasts. It was like living in a “Wohngemeinschaft”, and in this case: a functional one (I don’t think that there is a proper translation of “Wohngemeinschaft into English). It started us thinking, dreaming …

…. And then, they were gone again, the kitchen less lively.

Guys, you are welcome to visit us on board! Anytime! Just take a flight to Trinidad (Air Caribbean) and connect with Liat to our destination. It would be great to see you again!
