In order to reach the Caribbean coast from Grand-Riviere, one has to hike in the tropical forest for about 16 km in order to get to the town of Le Precheur. We hiked about 3km of this path in the rainforest – its beauty just breathtaking with giant ferns, red tropical flowers peaking through lush foliage, wild growing fruit trees, bamboos, and giant vines strangling gumtrees!
